Description
Emerging Voices 2026 is a training partnership between Powerd Media, ABC Canberra and 1RPH. The Canberra Emerging Voices program will train up to five people living with disability to improve their storytelling confidence and capacity. It will be up to the participants themselves to determine if they wish to create individual audio stories or work in pairs or groups. The training involves an introduction to storytelling, interviewing, structuring stories and the use of recording and editing equipment. ABC Canberra’s Adrienne Francis has designed the course and will be delivering most of the training from ABC Canberra’s headquarters at Dickson. Six of the eight sessions (18/05, 25/08, 15/09, 22/09. 29/09 & 06/10) will be held at ABC Canberra on Monday’s (10am – 5pm). Radio 1RPH will host the students and supervise training for two of the eight sessions on Tuesday’s (02/06, 09/06).
